CT01 By-laws CT01 Bylaws Entry Fees This is how the entry fees are used / broken down Added Money** 100 % to the payouts Entry Fee $ 20 % goes to the club for yearend awards 80 % goes to the payouts Ground / Office / Timer fee – To the arena owner Warm-up fee - To the arena owner ** Arena typically donates the added money (This is how it works in CT01 but not everywhere. The NBHA Director Rule Book says the district director can pay themselves 50% of the 20% collected from the runs plus 20% of any fundraising event that they are sponsoring. I do not pay myself any money collected from either the 20% or fundraising! All money collected goes back to the club.) Awards Yearend awards are given as follows Open Class Awards are given to every placing (1-5 in each division) regardless of the horse/rider combination. All ties will be broken as so only 5 awards are given per division. Ties are broken as follow 1st based on show participation, 2nd on money won within the Division where there is a tie. Senior / Youth Class: Awards are given for placing 1-3 in based on a 3D format according to the highest points earned regardless of the division, riders competing on multiple horses can receive multiple awards (one per division). Year-end award fee must be contibuted (see below) to be eligible for an award. Riders must finish in place 1-5 in the Open Divisions, or 1-3 in Youth and Senior divisions to recieve an award. If a rider in an award placing position does not pay there award fee the award is forfeited...the rider in the next position, IS NOT, moved up to receive an award. For example if the rider in 5th place in the 2nd Division does not pay their award fee, the 6th place rider DOES NOT receive an award. Membership Status Awards will only be presented to members who are “up to date” in their fundraising / awards fee status, ($50.00 profit from a fundraiser or a payment of $50.00 awards fee) and they must be a member in good standing, i.e. membership is active and are not in suspension. All current members must be up to date on awards fees/fundraising by June 1. Soliciting / Working of Property Any person working on a arena property i.e. providing services or selling items, must have written permission from the arena owner and must be presented to the office prior to the start of any of any sanctioned event. NBHA staff has the right to remove any solicitors working on property without arena owner’s written permission. Open Arena prior to start of Event - Open arena is typically not permitted for riders prior to the start of any NBHA event...this is to allow the arena crew to set-up, stake the barrels and work the ground prior to the event. ALSO, no one is allowed to be in the arena with their horse while the tractor is running in the arena...this is both an issue with safety and insurance. Warming up/riding in areas outside the primary arena is allowed with the permission of the arena owner. Schooling Horse During Open/Youth/Senior Runs Competitors must not school their horses during open/youth/senior competition runs. This rule is in place in order to ensure that the ground is kept as consistent as possible. Horses should only make one (1) turn around each barrel. If a horse goes off pattern, knocks a barrel, etc, horses should not go back to "school" the pattern. Schooling should be reserved for warm-up runs only. Show management reserves the right to ask any particpate to leave the arena immediately if thought to be schooling during competition runs. No refunds will be granted.
